User facilities
| The goal of the programme area User facilities is to promote the end user's access to the research libraries' information resources. The programme area wants to inspire and activate projects which will provide the employees of the research libraries with tools, knowledge and qualifications to developing the libraries' utility value for users, research, and education. Equally the aim is to establish collaboration for developing the end users' information literacy as well as services that ensure that the end user can receive guidance and instruction in information searching via the Internet.
Therefore the programme area also works to inspire studies in library use and user behaviour, to activate virtual reference systems, to develop the information literacy of the users by turning the libraries into attractive learning environments and to initiate the breakdown of barriers to access to information materials.
Among other things, the programme committee operates with:
- Usability testing of web sites and portals
- Occupying virtual reference tools
- Information literacy
- Books at your doorstep
- Marketing
